Hey!
First and foremost: Nothing will change the firstcoming tournament. There will be 25 bisonbucks to whoever wins the tournament.
But, I was thinking, while 25 bisonbucks is nothing to scoff at, it might not be something that drags other players inn. So, why not just collect all that money I am willing to spend on you guys throughout the year, and let it rain all at once in one tournament around christmas?
So, that will be 25x10 months, which is 250 bison bucks for one tournament.
How does that sound? Is that more hype? Will 250 bison bucks be enough to even bring ... Zatiek back for a surprise showing?!
And then, to make the upcoming tournaments worth something, they will be used as seeding for the grand finale in december.
Hopefully, with the help of the community, there could be a donation-drive to make the pot even bigger by then?
WHO KNOWS?! I am just throwing ideas around here. Lets make YOMI DeGREAT/ZANE/TROQ AGAIN!

IMO small ones is good because there's more odds that everyone will be able to find at least one to participate in, whereas if it's all dumped into one big tournament then it's more likely people will miss it.
Especially if that tournament is near'bouts the Winter Holidays which keep people so dang busy

If you want to have a season finals or something and are looking for a way to increase hype, you can probably get away with some sort of entrance fee to juice up that particular pot. Even a small entrance fee goes a long way towards amping up that final number. And after you've invested so many of your own hard earned BisonBucks for the tournament series, anybody who complains about dropping a couple bucks for an entry fee really won't have much of a leg to stand on.

A good point, tho a counterpoint might be that one could just push the date out in to the start of January. So, for the sake of the discussion - Imagine that the date itself doesn't crash with some big international holidayseason.

My primary point still stands that, there's a lower chance of everyone being able to make it to any one given tournament. I'd rather have to skip a couple $25 tournaments due to scheduling than miss the One Big One.

I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or not. Obviously, Bison Bucks are a reference to the money from the Street Fighter universe that are both fictional as well as worthless in the fiction. So are we just joking about the fact that you get nothing from this tournament? Are we talking about a points system exclusive to this tournament series? Or are we using a euphemism for real money?

Pretty sure neigutten is talking about real money. Possibly Euros, in which case as an NA player, each tiny prize pool is like $250 NA dollars.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I'm indifferent on the final choice, but I will note that, as the TO, be prepared to be more engaged, more transparent, and deal with more arguments and complaints as people play for actual stakes, rather than just pride/results.

I see. I think $250 is too large for a single tournament, then, unless we're talking a big, 64-man one.

This might be the most convincing point yet. Dropping the same smallish amount of money over months might have less of a chance to blow up in my face than one big prize for one tournament ^^
