No its not a weird remake of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, its me trying to "be the change" since I'm sad there isn't more yomi discussion over here in MSS.
I've been thinking a lot lately about what fairly simple changes could potentially make four of the worst matchups in yomi better ( and vs and if that somehow wasn't clear from the title). Both these matchups are bad because of the poor throw game of and the extremely safe single A play from . These are my suggestions to try and fix the matchups so far, let me know what you guys think.
Lum
Innate "Roll the Dice" → "At the end of combat, if you dealt damage of block damage with an attack or throw this turn, you may discard the top card of your deck and consult the following table:"
Allowing throw to get Roll the Dice means that a) Lum's throws can give knockdown and b) Lum can use his face cards to pump his throws and get the extra damage for free. The knockdown is extremely valuable versus DeGrey since it shuts off his A-dodge, while his face cards are of much less value in these two matchups he should be much happier using them for throw damage, especially if they return to hand around 50% of the time.
These things will both occur in a chance-based fashion, which is very in keeping with the character. I don't believe these changes will really affect his other matchups very much, since he doesn't tend to spend a lot of time throwing vs most other characters due to relatively weak payoff.
Onimaru
9 Throw → Named throw "Final Authrowity" 9.2 speed, 9+5+5 damage + KD
First of all the name is kind of a joke, but I know that's what we call it already so I didn't want to give it a bland name instead. Open to suggestions/comments on what to call it.
This change is designed to give Oni access to knockdown from throw, but without giving him any more access to KD than he already has. Its important to keep in mind that Oni already has the rudest knockdown mixup in the game with 10-attack to beat all block and throws (other than degrey 7-throw), final authority to beat all throws and attacks, and dodge to beat gold burst and all attacks. Basically this should enable him to better set up damage on his opponent when his normal mixup doesn't work, albeit at the expense of a final authority. There is also a slight damage boost added, but this could be increased to +6 or even an extra available pump if necessary.
