Isn't her max range like twice Shifu's M1? I'm almost positive it's within range of things like Shifu or Rook's M2s. Compared to other ranged characters, it's much shorter. ---- I finally got Freya to 10 and tanked my MMR in the process. She's definitely the character I'm worst with. Although maybe part of that was teammates. I played with a few good supports who would let me get in, get shields, do damage, and then help me get out, and those games were stomps. But I also played with bad supports who would do things like Other Side or Bubble for space right after I landed Thunderclap and was about to unload. It also took me until rank 9 to get the hang of using her EX Thunderclap effectively for pursuit I think the round 1 rite for static on M1 after Space might actually be better than the double hammers in a lot of situations against ranged. Having better poke is nice, but being able to stick to them seems better.

That's probably because it is!

I think my biggest issue with the game right now is just maxing the last few characters.
I do hope there's some buffs though because while I feel the game is much better balanced than some might give it credit, a few characters really do feel just a bit weaker than they should be, and polo is still in my eyes the obvious case of "too good"

Yeah, I would like to see some Rook and Sirius buffs, and nerfs to Spearmaster and Poloma. And maybe Pearl.
This game is still super-tightly-balanced though.

Rook needs a slight rework, I think Sirius is mostly fine except his M1's damage should probably just be 26 by default since he has no other decent damage anywhere (EX M1 not included).
I still hold that Spearmaster does not need charges on E, alternatively a longer cooldown on Kunju. Poloma is... problematic. Maybe a longer CD/shorter duration on Other Side, but that doesn't feel right either way. She's a little hard to tune IMO.
Remove Pearl from the game.

Rook needs a way to be a threat, or they are going to need a pick phase that rewards counter picking (I think he works as anti melee).
The only thing I'd want for shifu is a space cd nerf, and even then I feel it's interesting that he's basically the only melee played at a competitive level (some croak), which to me means other melee's need to be buffed to his level.
Polo- wolf does not need to do 20 damage on the first hit and then bounce for more. At the very least that's where I'd start.
Sirius- it's hard to think of something right off the bat. I like that he's the "if I hit you" kind of archetype who also has utility. I suppose nerfing pearl/polo might help so that he's not autoreject on that principle alone. Maybe a rework to EX space or R?
Hell maybe just buffing his melee damage to 10 without the charge.

Rook probably needs iframes on something and more to do than throw rocks until he can walk in. Rook is one of those characters who just gets squashed by those big AoE ults because he literally can't do anything about them, even if he has Space up, sometimes. Shifu... I think longer cooldown on Kunju would be okay. Maybe reworking the "counter gets you 3 charges" thing? Or maybe less immaterial on Kunju. Or maybe just tuning his damage down slightly. Poloma - I think the wolf is the right place to start. Reduce its damage, increase it's cooldown, something. I'd also probably put Otherside's cooldown back down. It's also possible that her auto-attack cast speed or projectile speed should be reduced. Some of her battlerites may need tuning, also. It's pretty ridiculous that she has best-in-class burst heals with space and pixie, best-in-class sustained heals, best-in-class (or tied) "get teammate out of trouble) and arguably best-in-class burst damage. And pretty good sustained damage. I've had pretty good luck winning 1v1s just auto-attacking people to death. Sirius I think needs his damage buffed, but I'd actually look at his EX abilities, especially space and R. Well, frankly I think he needs his R replaced with something that's more useful on cooldown. His EX space is kind of meh, too. It's weird, because his EX M1 and R are all kitted for "chase down and kill someone who is trying to get away" except his damage is so low that nobody is going to be trying to get away from him. And iirc the EX M1 puts his autoattack on cooldown (I'll have to retest this, I haven't played him in a while.) I don't think Pearl needs to be removed. She just needs a nerf to her voice and taunts If she needs an actual nerf, I'd probably start with removing the round-1 "Dive charges weapon" rite, because that increases her kite enormously, and increases the damage she deals while doing so. Maybe reduce the cast time on her EX M1, though. Lucie may also need a slight nerf, because if Pearl and Poloma get nerfed she could easily turn out to completely dominate the meta in 2s. It's weird that a lot of people on reddit are calling for Bakko nerfs, because he hasn't really been showing in top level play to my knowledge. I think they're just mostly not able to handle his M2. Like eji said, Shifu is the only regular melee pick at top levels. Which maybe implies that other melees need some buffs? But I think I'd rather see the top supports nerfed a bit first and see if that helps. tl;dr: I think start small, nerf Poloma, Pearl, maybe Lucie a little bit. Sirius and Rook probably need substantial rework (relatively speaking.) Everything else should be left alone to see if making healers slightly less good helps. I really don't want to see a shift toward increased damage output and games resolving faster because of it. ALTHOUGH if the Croak/Jade combo is too good, I'd probably nerf Croak's EX Stealth (and maybe give him his attack speed back.) Or buff his EX Stealth a little and make it two energy bars so that he can't use it quite as often?

EX m1 does not put m1 on cd, or rather it gives it the exact same cd as a normal m1 (basically nothing). EX's in every case i've seen share the cd of the skill they are EXing, so nothing for M1 and some M2's, and otherwise the same amount as the original skill.
Pearl cast time on EX m1 is already absurd, and a questionable use of meter when R and Ult are already so good (and getting weapon charges aren't that hard). I'd be willing to just maybe leave her be, as she does have weaknesses, they're just very difficult to exploit. If anything maybe up the CD on something so it's harder for her to chain everything together in one ongoing onslaught of perfect defense.
I think the only thing to hit on lucie is the petrify arrow, which is literally one of the best skills in the game right now in comp play, especially 3v3. Smaller AOE is probably the most important thing.
Agree small movements no matter what. I'm fine with the last round of nerfs being small and not changing much. I think it's much smarter than ripping the whole thing apart unless they decide it's really not worth the effort to keep a kit the same, or something is just drastically out of whack.

Hmm, you're right. Sirius's EX M1 has a listed 0.5s cooldown, but that doesn't seem to actually do anything.
You think the cast time on Pearl's EX M1 is low? Hmm. I find it's usually too long to be worth doing unless you're out of a fight. And as you said, R and Ult are so good. But if you removed Dive charges battlerite, maybe reducing EX M1 cast time would be good, which was I think my suggestion. I think the main thing to do with Pearl most of the time is to just ignore her except for occasional CC and kill her teammate. If she uses Dive to charge her weapon, jump on her face.
Lucie's EX fear is pretty freaking good, yes. Early game you land fears for energy in 2s. Later you use EX to set up ridiculous combos or to be basically uncatchable/unkillable.
Another possible Poloma nerf which may be more applicable would be to reduce the healing shared on Spirit Link.

I'm working today with limited access so someone let me live vicariously through them and tell me how the changes are (and the new heroes).

They're good. They're great. I like the new patch.
Except Rook's new M2 going through trances. That shit's annoying as fuck.

Slowly getting the hang of KHAAAAAN. He's quite fun if a little awkward. I think he can go in and be a bruiser in the right situation, but that much i'm rusty on. For the most part i'm seeing decent success using just m2 and E to snipe and mass spamming space once i'm in (shift space, hardest move in the game btw).
