Another continued from FS.
Finished Narco's season 2. I suspect it's a little more dramatized than season 1, but it was still decent. I'm mostly happy to see them continuing to season 3, as the quality really is above par.
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell- random recommendation and i'm only 2 episodes in, but it's really good so far. 7 episode British miniseries on magic in London sort of thing, but done with a hell of a lot of flavor.

When it comes to tv shows, I don't watch a lot, but I recommend Gotham for sure. Good show.

On my GF's insistence we have started watching American Horror Story and Lie To Me. However we're also watching some anime as well so every show gets a minimal amount of attention so god knows how long it'll take to finish anything.

The League-
Watching on a friends recommendation. Live show on netflix (from like...09 or something?) about fantasy football league, although you really don't need to know much about football to enjoy it.
That said I'm not sure I actually find it that good. A lot of cringe/horrible people humor (just them being some of the worst human beings they can be) and I always find that hit or miss. Certainly a lot of great moments though.

Just finished season 1 of Better Call Saul. Wow... that show is FUN. And DEPRESSING. But FUN.

Luke Cage-
I'm about 7 episodes in, and it's ok. Of the netflix series and seasons, I think it's the weakest. It is still entertaining though, but for the most part it feels less ambitious in some ways. There are some really high moments and concepts, but there's also an awful lot of cliche, especially for some characters (the cops come to mind as having some really lazy lines).
It's interesting because all of these shows have some really really great highs, but then fizzle on the rest. Jessica Jones has probably some of my favorite episodes/scenes, but is also so damn weak in the second half. Fisk is amazing in Daredevil, but you've also got shit like the second half of season 2.
I'm still glad they're making these because they're way higher in quality than anything else in the genre, and still good compared in general, but I hope they eventually figure out what they're doing.
Edit-
It goes hard off a cliff after episode 7 btw. I won't spoil anything, and I guess it's still watchable, but the writing is just so awful. It's weird because I feel like they do character drama really well, but don't actually understand how to handle the superhero drama at all anymore without being completely cliche (granted it doesn't help that they're somewhat stuck with difficult source material).
And really thinking about it I feel like the second half even loses the decent character drama for a whole slew of reasons, and a poor decision to give an already poorly written character even more focus.

Penny Dreadful- potentially cool, quickly becomes probably the best version of Twilight possible. I did enjoy it, but at the end of the day it feels like a violent romance novel.
Westworld- I like it. Also Anthony Hopkins. It handles its material in a decent, if so far predictable, manner, but I still care what happens, so that's good.

Have you read the book? I got rather excited when I saw the trailer for the show, because it looked really good and it seemed as if they really nailed the setting. Westworld seems interesting, but I think I will wait until it has fully aired. The next (non-animated) thing that I watch will most likely be Game of Thrones season 6.

I have the book now but am struggling through it. The style is a little slow, and knowing what will happen doesn't help (i know its different, but the early stuff is pretty accurate). Decided to put it down while i read the black company and do other things until it's not as fresh in my mind and try again. In the meantime i'm watching Farge (tv series). I've finished season 1 and just started season 2. Season 1: Good. My only issue is that if you've seen the movie there's a definite "same idea different story" feel, but really it's just more of the totally unique setting for a dark comedy thriller. I liked most of it minus one or two things. Season 2: Only 3 episodes in but enjoying it so far. I'd highly recommend it so long as you know what you're getting into (graphically violent at times and sometimes very disturbing).
